Can Baycox be used as a PreRace?
Most people in the racing industry beleive that Baycox is used only to treat EPM. Some beleive it can be used as a very effective pre-race by administering Baycox two days prior to racing. Why is this? Some trainers are saying that Baycox allows the race horse to breath better by paralyzing the protozoa in the throat. It seems that horses with a slight touch of EPM that are not exhibiting signs of EPM can be improved through a weekly dosage of Baycox two days prior to racing. The best advice we can give is give it a try and see if it helps your horse breath a little better. Please take not that using Baycox every week can put a strain on the immune system and the red blood count. It’s a good practice to monitor both and use a good vitamin / blood builder supplement combo like Newcells, Hippiron, or Cacco Copper to keep the blood in good standard.
